Allergy Friendly Easy Turkish Manti
I have been a long time fan of Turkish Food Recipe Channel by Aysenur Altan. When I saw this recipe of Easy Turkish Manti, I decided to recreate the recipe with allergen free ingredients. This recipe is easy, delicious and comes together in less than an hour.
You can either follow the original recipe through the link above or use the recipe with allergy friendly ingredients below. I tried to stick to the same measurements as in the original recipe. Do let me know how it turned out with the substitutions.
Substitutions
- 🥛 Dairy Free: The two dairy items that this recipe uses is butter and yogurt.
- 🧈 Butter: I used dairy free butter substitute but you can use oil too, if you cannot find it.
- 🥥 Yogurt: I substituted this with a dairy free coconut based yogurt. If you do not like coconut flavor than use any other dairy free substitutes. I did find that the dairy free yogurt was a lot thicker than the dairy version. It may be because of the coconut, you can add a little dairy free milk to the yogurt, if it is thick, to reach the desired consistency.
- 🌾 Gluten Free: I used gluten free shell pasta instead of the farfalle. I have yet to see a gluten free version of it. If you have come across a gluten free Farfalle, let me know which brand in the comments below.
I had to boil the pasta twice as the first batch was finished quickly. However, I did not add the yogurt topping the second time round as I was just too lazy but it was still delicious. So if you cannot find the dairy free yogurt at all you can still enjoy this dish without it like a regular pasta.

ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this recipe before, but after looking over the ingredients and instructions, it looks very much like something my mom used to make, but without the yogurt and I LOVED it! Gotta tr this version!
ReplyDeleteThe yogurt and the mint is probably what gives it the Turkish flavors.
