Dairy Free Mornay Sauce
Béchamel is a standard white sauce and also the most versatile of all sauces. This means it is used as the starting point for making many other sauces. Once such sauce is Mornay Sauce. It is basically béchamel with cheese added. The sauce is incredibly easy to make. Here I show you how to make Dairy Free Mornay Sauce. It goes well with pastas and vegetables.
I make this classic using dairy free cheddar style shredded cheese. As you can see in the picture the sauce looks grainy rather than saucy that is just because dairy free cheeses are sometimes hard to melt and I was a bit impatient. So take your time to melt the cheese to make it more smoother.
